Time For Squirrel Barking

Some time ago I made a video of an upset little squirrel in a tree.  He was crying
and barking as the tree swayed in the wind.  It was obvious he saw something below that frightened him.

So get ready with your camera—if you are a nature lover.  It is the time of the year, when young squirrels go out on their own and explore the world.
Yes–they will bark.

When Bunny Hops…..

I remember seeing young rabbits running and playing around my backyard apple tree.  They did not seem to eat anything valuable but many natural weeds.  It was fun to watch them.

Then came a year when I did not see any rabbits at all.  No momma rabbit leading her babies across the incline to hide in the tall grass.  It was very strange.

I know that year—I saw foxes coming by the yards from the woods.    It was terrible I found a dead baby rabbit’s head.  Who knows what happened?

I know a lot of people will complain about animals.  But I think the world is a little better when you have a healthy dose of wild life to observe.  It is like the world saying–“Hey everything is okay.”

This spring and summer I saw some rabbits again.  They were running very fast. I think something scared them.  So it goes—stay safe—

For Me–I’ll Take Hamburger

I love animals–That’s just the way I am.  It is something you are born with. So–I don’t really like hunting.

Not wanting to get into a dispute with the people that do.  It could be a regional thing.  If you are doing it–I don’t want to hear about it, nor do I want to eat or hear about your venison burger or meat.

A dear friend a few days ago–sent me photos of a venison meal he was making and all I could do is say— honestly I felt like puking.

I like to observe the beauty of animals (ALIVE) –take photos of them–make videos–draw pictures—paint them–make sculpture.  Yes—of Live Ones.

So with that said—No to your outdoor nature meals—yes I know the early pioneers ate it—but it’s not for me.

The Many Different Colors Of Nature

If you watch nature–you become aware of the many colors to observe.  Whether it is trees, flowers, scenery or animals.

I have seen many different colors of squirrels.  The common and active gray.  Also a few years ago I was able to watch and film a black squirrel.  He was very beautiful.

But several years ago for a short span I was able to observe a cute little red squirrel.  He was so lively and quick.  Sadly he never came back to the area after that summer.

Thoughts Of Spring Past And Summer

Every day when I go outside, it is amazing all the things nature shows us.  Whether it is the beautiful flowers, trees, birds or animals. There is always  a new or different sight. The many colors, patterns are really something to watch.

I like when in the spring the new mothers bring out their babies.  The mama birds have a hard time.  Their babies are the same size as them.  It is funny when you see a mama chickadee with three babies.  These babies chase after her, flapping their wings and chatter.  “Feed me—feed me.”  Poor mama.

Nature can be beautiful, but cruel.  I saw a poor dead bird yesterday.  It was a nuthatch.  It is sad, but maybe the poor thing was hurt.

It is the same way with humans. We see good things and bad.  Lately I have been unfortunate to see too much of the bad.  I know I will be seeing more of the good.

Filming Nature

I like to film nature.

One of the best things to film is the new crop of wildlife babies that appear each

spring or summer.

Whether it is a new batch of baby birds or new raccoons, it does not matter.

Each are different in their own way.  It is fun to watch how they stick close to their mom.

All these babies learn how to do the daily things needed to survive

in the wild.

It is a hard life for all of them.  Sometimes you can not find food and must

be ready to flee when you sense danger.

The time passes quickly and soon this year’s babies will be bringing

out their babies to show off soon.

What can I say?  I better make sure I have enough sd cards.
