When Bunny Hops…..

I remember seeing young rabbits running and playing around my backyard apple tree.  They did not seem to eat anything valuable but many natural weeds.  It was fun to watch them.

Then came a year when I did not see any rabbits at all.  No momma rabbit leading her babies across the incline to hide in the tall grass.  It was very strange.

I know that year—I saw foxes coming by the yards from the woods.    It was terrible I found a dead baby rabbit’s head.  Who knows what happened?

I know a lot of people will complain about animals.  But I think the world is a little better when you have a healthy dose of wild life to observe.  It is like the world saying–“Hey everything is okay.”

This spring and summer I saw some rabbits again.  They were running very fast. I think something scared them.  So it goes—stay safe—

Time for Gobble Gobble

Ah—-the season of the feast. People roaming around the supermarket with shopping carts(wagons) busily looking down at long lists of things to get. Husband and wife–joined together—she swoops—he attacks—yes got the can of cranberries.
Others are hypnotized by looking at a phone—the wise voice on the other end—knows all—sees all—-tells them what to get.

Gobble….gobble…the cause of it all—some heavy—frozen—iced bird—you can not even lift..
Enjoy your feast all.

Thoughts Of Spring Past And Summer

Every day when I go outside, it is amazing all the things nature shows us.  Whether it is the beautiful flowers, trees, birds or animals. There is always  a new or different sight. The many colors, patterns are really something to watch.

I like when in the spring the new mothers bring out their babies.  The mama birds have a hard time.  Their babies are the same size as them.  It is funny when you see a mama chickadee with three babies.  These babies chase after her, flapping their wings and chatter.  “Feed me—feed me.”  Poor mama.

Nature can be beautiful, but cruel.  I saw a poor dead bird yesterday.  It was a nuthatch.  It is sad, but maybe the poor thing was hurt.

It is the same way with humans. We see good things and bad.  Lately I have been unfortunate to see too much of the bad.  I know I will be seeing more of the good.
